The community of 15,000 has many of the amenities of a big city and an abundance of outdoor activities. LBE Group Inc. is seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer for a full-time position.

Job Description

The successful applicant will provide support to our group of Engineering professionals. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Uses a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques in solving problems.
• Assists more senior engineers in carrying out technical tasks requiring accuracy in calculations, completeness of data and adherence to prescribed analysis, design, or computation methods.
  Is responsible for studies of limited scope requiring application of prescribed engineering methods.
• Uses initiative and judgement in resolving problems, obtaining and analyzing data, designing or modifying equipment components and in determining the intent of a specification or instruction.
• Completes various engineering assignments, including investigations, studies, heating/cooling load calculations, mechanical design and specifications drawings for permit and construction, cost estimation, and supervision of construction and commissioning.
• Performs field inspection, condition assessment, and monitoring of construction.
• Working with others on the design team to ensure a complete and integrated building design for our clients.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Must have valid full driver’s licence.
• 1 -2 years of experience in mechanical design, preference will be given to candidates with experience in the study and design of mechanical, HVAC and plumbing systems for the municipal and industrial sectors.
• Registered as an E.I.T

• Prepare calculations for mechanical building systems such as sizing ducting, piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, and specialized mechanical equipment and components.
• Develop layout plans and detailed design drawings of mechanical building systems such as HVAC, sanitary drainage, storm drainage, domestic water distribution, specialized plumbing and piping systems.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and reports necessary to deliver a project.
• Develop project-specific mechanical details and equipment schedules.
• Develop mechanical-specific Revit assets to support Revit-based mechanical project delivery methodologies.
• Design Code-compliant building systems that meet client, owner, municipal, and provincial requirements that meet the applicable industry standards.
• Coordinate the design of the mechanical building system with structural, architectural and electrical systems and components.
• Develop coordination drawing or model packages to mitigate coordination issues during construction.
• Manage project stakeholder requirements and expectations.
• Design mechanical building systems using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD while adhering to company BIM and CAD standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in the mechanical/HVAC industry is a must.
• Experience working in AutoCAD MEP/Revit is considered an asset - willing to train.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
